Outerwear is the largest thing most clothing stores bag. A folded jacket or coat is about 45 × 35 cm and 10 cm thick, and a winter coat can be heavier than a kilo. Only extra-large carriers and mailers take it without a second fold. Tailored jackets and blazers crease badly when squeezed, so they are better in a bag with some room than in one that fits exactly.
