A 750 ml rectangular takeaway container is about 18 × 12 × 6 cm and weighs about 0.8 kg with food. Containers of curry, rice or soup have to stay level, so they are stacked flat inside the bag rather than turned on their side — which means the bag’s base must take the container’s footprint and its height must take the stack. Four containers is over 3 kg, so weight becomes the limit before space does.
